At approximately 4:56 (ET), service has been restored and eCBSV is operating normally at this time. We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused.

Monitoring

SSA is currently experiencing a service-impacting event affecting multiple applications and services, including the Electronic Consent Based Social Security Number Verification (eCBSV) service. A small number of transactions are affected as the disruption was first noted at approximately 4:47 PM (ET) on October 23, 2026. We will share another update once we receive notice that service has been restored, and eCBSV is operating normally again.
