SSA experienced a service-impacting event that affected multiple applications and services, including the Electronic Consent Based Social Security Number Verification (eCBSV) service. A small number of transactions were affected as the disruption began at approximately 2:50PM (ET) on October 18, 2026, and was resolved at approximately 3:10PM (ET). Service has been restored, and eCBSV is operating normally at this time.
